(Battle Creek, MI) The Golden Eagles were eliminated from the WHAC Tournament today with an 11-3 loss to UM-Dearborn in Game 1 and a 7-2 loss to Indiana Tech in their second game today. The Golden Eagles finish the season with a 13-38 record.

The Golden Eagles started out well today scoring a run in the first inning on consecutive hits by Elayna Citko and Tahni Bruno. Citko started the game with a leadoff double and Bruno knocked her in with an RBI single to start the game. Cornerstone scored another run in the second inning on another Bruno single to put Cornerstone up 2-1 after two innings. The Wolves exploded for 6 runs in the fourth inning and the Golden Eagles would never get themselves back into the game. UM-Dearborn added 3 runs in the top of the sixth to go up 11-3 and the game was called after the Golden Eagles failed to score in the bottom of the inning. Tahni Bruno went 4 for 4 with 2 RBI's for Cornerstone.

Cornerstone then faced Indiana Tech in an elimination game at 5:00 p.m. The Golden Eagles dug a hole going down 4-0 after two innings. Cornerstone made it 4-1 on a Mandee Michielsen sacrifice fly but the Warriors responded with 2 runs in the bottom half of the inning and then cruised to the 7-2 win to eliminate the Golden Eagles from the tournament. Melanie Creager led the Golden Eagles going 1 for 2 with and RBI and a run scored. Cornerstone finishes with a 14-38 record.
