(Grand Rapids, Mich.) The Golden Eagles outscored Siena Heights 8-1 in their games against Siena Heights today. The unfortunate part of that was that the Saints won Game 1 by the score of 1-0. Madison Bucilla pitched a 3 hitter and gave up just one run but the Golden Eagles only got 2 hits (both by Elayna Citko) and couldn't bring anyone home in the game.

Cornerstone made sure they would gain a split with Siena Heights by scoring 5 runs in the first inning of Game 2. Kaycee Kuiper did the rest keeping the Saints to just 2 hits and recorded her 2nd shutout of the season. Madison Bucilla did most of the damage at the plate. Bucilla went 2 for 2 at the plate and recorded 5 RBI's and scored a run. Melanie Creager went 2 for 3, scored twice, and had an RBI. Mandee Michielsen went 2 for 3 and had 2 RBI's. The Golden Eagles earned the split with the victory and improved to 7-15 and stays ahead of Siena Heights by a game and has two games in hand. The Saints are currently 6-18 so they only have 4 games remaining while Cornerstone still has 6 games to play.
