(Chicago, Ill.) The Golden Eagles returned to play today after 13 day layoff from their Arizona trip and came up short twice in their double header with Robert Morris University in Chicago. The Eagles defeated Cornerstone 4-2 in the first game. The game was tied 1-1 going into the bottom of the 6^th inning but the Eagles scored 3 runs to give them a 4-1 lead. Cornerstone responded with 1 run in the top of the 7^th but that would be all they could push across the plate and the game ended with a 4-2 loss. Tahni Bruno went 3 for 4 with an RBI and run scored to lead the Golden Eagles. Melanie Creager had a hit and an RBI while Mandee Michielsen had a hit and a run scored for Cornerstone. Rachel Gruppen took the loss on the mound.

Cornerstone dug a little hole to start game 2 giving up a run in each of the first two innings to go down 2-0. Kaycee Kuiper settled down and pitched a very good game limiting Robert Morris to just 4 hits in the game. Cornerstone mounted a 2 out rally in the top of the 7^th inning with a run but the Golden Eagles stranded two runners on a ground out to end the game. Kuiper took the loss on the mound but she pitched a very good game. Cornerstone drops to 3-12 on the season. Cornerstone will return to action tomorrow when they take on St. Xavier in a double header beginning at 1:00 p.m. CST.
