Cornerstone has hired Michelle Boogaar to coach the Women's Golf team. Michelle Boogaard enters her first season as the Women's Golf Coach at Cornerstone. Michelle is a follower of Christ and a leader in life when it comes to being a role model and inspiration to a team. Her faith has taken her on a journey that has brought her to her passion in life, coaching. She is currently a golf instructor at The Pines Golf Course with experience in teaching at numerous of golf courses in Florida, Texas, and Michigan. She graduated from South Christian High School and earned 4 straight years of All-State honors in golf. She is also a former collegiate golfer graduating from Grand Valley State University. She then had the opportunity to coach both the boys and girls golf teams at South Christian High School for about 5 seasons. She is fortunate to have a father, Mike Boogaard, who owns a golf course that enabled Michelle to learn at such a young age with her two sisters Sara and Kelly, who also went off to play collegiate golf at University of Toledo and Eastern Michigan. Her mother, Lora, is her rock and foundation throughout her life and has helped guide her through God's path he has laid out. Michelle's outgoing and uplifting personality has helped her pursue not only her love for the game, but being an influence to others.
"We're thrilled to have Michelle take over our Women's Golf program. She brings experience both as a player and coach and has a passion to teach and mentor our student athletes. Michelle has indicated that she not only wants to build a team that is very competitive but one that is also growing in their faith and honors God in everything they do."
