Drew Losee, who prepped at Auburn Hills Oakland Christian High School, recently signed his Letter of Intent to play basketball at Cornerstone University beginning in the fall of 2014. Losee led his team to an 18-3 record this past season and was named to the Michigan Independent Athletic Conference (MIAC) 2nd Team. The 5-10 point guard averaged eight points/game while dishing out five assists/game for the Lancers. The two-year captain also grabbed three rebounds/contest during the 2013-14 campaign.
Prior to Oakland Christian, Losee played two years of varsity basketball at Lake Orion High School. He started at LOHS and averaged 5 PPG and 3 APG as a sophomore. That season Losee helped his team to both a District Championship and Regional Championship before bowing out in the State quarterfinals to L'Anse Creuse North.
Losee had season-highs in both points and assists with 22 points and 11 assists versus Westside Christian on January 21.
Losee also played soccer at OCHS and earned 2nd Team MIAC honors as well. As a forward, he scored six goals and had four assists and helped his team to a 11-5 record for the season.
Coach Elders on Drew: "Drew is a strong, crafty point guard who doesn't back down from anything. He has a tremendous work-ethic and a very high basketball IQ. We're excited that Drew has chosen to come to Cornerstone to continue his education and play basketball."
Drew on why he chose Cornerstone: "I chose Cornerstone because I wanted to continue my growth in becoming a man of Christ while receiving an excellent education. I also felt like Cornerstone's basketball program was a great fit for me. I really clicked with the players on the team and my style of play fits the direction of the program very well."
Besides his athletic achievements, Losee has also been outstanding in the classroom by maintaining a 3.69 GPA. He will be majoring in Secondary Education at Cornerstone.
Drew is the son of Karen Schmitt Losee.
