The Cornerstone University baseball team got swept today in a home doubleheader by Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) foe Lourdes University by scores of 5-4 and 4-3.
Cornerstone's game one starter Luke Heller suffered the loss after allowing three runs on four hits with five walks. Ryan Harris pitched the last four innings and allowed one earned run on four hits and three walks to go with five strikeouts.
Tom Enslen led the offense in game one with two hits, one walk, and an RBI. Dillon Reust was 1-4 with one run and two RBI. Johnny Abbadusky added two runs and a stolen base out of the lead-off spot.
Game two starter Kyle Marburger took the loss after allowing three runs on five hits and two walks in two innings pitched. Paul Freswick pitched three shutout innings in relief and Brandon Willard allowed one run in two innings of work.
Travis Gordon led the offensive charge in game two with two hits, two walks, and two runs reaching base in all of his plate appearances. Tom Enslen was 3-3 and Zach Bohl was 2-3 with 2 RBI.
The losses move the Cornerstone record to 14-20 overall and 3-14 in the WHAC. The series against Lourdes will resume on Monday for a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 at Cornerstone University
