The Golden Eagles honored and started all of their seniors (Katelyn Cousins, Olivia Jewett, and Janae Trombley) today against Lawrence Tech. The Blue Devils opened the scoring and ran out to an 8-7 lead with 15:04 on the clock but then the Golden Eagles made an 11-0 run over the few minutes to go up 18-8. Katelyn Cousins scored six points during that stretch of play. The Golden Eagles doubled up the Blue Devils over the next eight minutes to take a 36-16 lead with 4:26 remaining in the half. Lawrence Tech cut the lead down to 14 (42-28) with 1:05 left in the half but Cornerstone made a 7-3 run to finish out the half up 49-31. Katelyn Cousins went 10 for 17 from the floor which included 3 of 6 from distance to score 23 points to go with 3 assists and 3 rebounds in the first half of play. The Golden Eagles pushed the lead back to 20 (53-33) early in the second half but then the Blue Devils started cutting into the lead over the next five minutes and the got it down to single digits (61-52) with 12:13 left in the half. The two teams traded baskets over the next three minutes before Cornerstone started to gain some separation from the Blue Devils. Emma Lockhart knocked down a 3-pointer to start a 5-0 run for Cornerstone to go up 14 (70-56) at 8:17. Lawrence Tech got the score back to 10 points (72-62) making a couple of baskets around 5:19 but Cornerstone responded with a 18-4 run to go up 90-66 with 1:18 left and would finish with a 92-72 win over Lawrence Tech. Katelyn Cousins scored a career high 35 points in her final regular season game. Jill Hendrickson just missed recording her 15th double double of the season with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Janae Trombley scored 15 and Tanner Hostetler added 10 for the Golden Eagles. Cornerstone secured the #2 seed with the win.

Cornerstone shot 54.8% (34-62) from the floor which included 8 of 23 from beyond the arc. The Blue Devils shot 44.6% (25-56) but made only 2 of 11 from long range.
Cornerstone will be the #2 seed and will host the #7 seed Concordia in the first game of the WHAC playoffs on Thursday, Feb. 27th at 7:30.
