The Golden Eagles got a little better start on the Saints this game. Aquinas made a 33-10 run over the last 10 minutes of the first half to take a 49-27 lead into the locker room over at Aquinas. The two teams traded leads a few times through the first half of play with the largest lead being 3 points (14-11) in favor of Cornerstone over the first eight minutes of play. The two teams were tied at 14-14 with 10:31 remaining but Cornerstone made a 9-0 run in a 2:45 second span to go up 23-14. The Golden Eagles pushed the lead to 11 a couple of times in the last four minutes but would have to settle for a 29-22 halftime lead. Janae Trombley opened the second half with a 3-pointer to give Cornerstone a 10 point advantage. Aquinas cut the lead to 7 (33-26) with 17:20 on the clock but Cornerstone would get back into double digits on another Trombley trey at 14:35 and they would keep a double digit lead for the remainder of the game. The Golden Eagles got it up to 16 points (46-30) but the Saints would cut it back down to 10 (46-36) with 9:36 left in the game. Cornerstone would then go on a 14-4 run over the next six minutes to take a 60-40 lead with 3:07. The Golden Eagles pulled out most of their starters and they maintained a solid lead through the remainder of the game. Aquinas hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to make the final score 64-49.

The Golden Eagles will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against Lawrence Tech. Katelyn Cousins, Olivia Jewett, and Janae Trombley will all be honored on that day.
