(Cedarville, Ohio) Cody Risch easily won his second race walk competition of the season, finishing 1:29 ahead of the next finisher at the Cedarville Collegiate Invitational.
His time of 12:11.70 also moved him back to the top of the NAIA national qualifying list in the event. Two weeks earlier, Risch's season debut put him number one, but the next day Alejandro Chavez and Nick Christie of Missouri Baptist walked faster.
The three men waged a terrific last lap battle at the 2013 NAIA Indoor Championships where Risch reached the finish first, but was disqualified. All three broke the meet record time. The trio will race head-to-head for the first time at nationals on March 7.
