(Mt. Pleasant, Mich.) The Cornerstone Women's Track & Field team concluded two long weeks of two-a-day practices by competing in the Jack Skoog Open at Central Michigan University, earning three new national qualifying performances.
Freshman, Tess Odegard joined junior Brittany Green in clearing the NAIA provisional qualifying standard of 5' 3 ¾" in the high jump. Green finished second and Odegard finished third because Green had fewer misses.
Green also ran a provisional qualifying time in the 60 meter hurdles for the third time this season. After taking second in her preliminary heat, Brittany finished third in the finals clocking 9.28.
Haley Russell took third in the 20 pound weight throw with a new best of 50' 4 ¾". She also improved her season best in the shot put to 40' 6 ¾" for third in that event.
