(Hillsdale, Mich.) Hillsdale College hosted the first collegiate meet in their new Biermann Athletic Center and Cornerstone freshmen Johnathan Mrosewske and Gabriel Turner used the occasion for record breaking performances.
In the 60 meter dash prelims, Mrosewske nipped 1/100th of a second off his freshman record set in December, winning his heat in 6.97. Teammates, Jon Brinks (7.14) and Tyler Kubik (7.34) also advanced to the finals where Golden Eagles placed second (Mrosewske, 7.02), fifth (Brinks, 7.13) and eighth (Kubik, 7.34).
Gabriel Turner broke the shot put freshman record for the second straight meet. His 45' 3.75" effort added 1 ¼" to the mark he set in December. Ross Raymond took fourth with a mark of 47' 8". Raymond also placed fifth in the 35 pound weight throw with a new best of 45' 2".
Cornerstone competes next at the Jack Skoog Open on January 17, hosted by Central Michigan University.
