The Golden Eagles didn't start all that well today but they certainly finished well in a 90-66 win over Concordia. The Cardinals started the game with a 13-6 run over the first five minutes of play. Cornerstone made a 7-0 run to tie the score at 13-13 with 11:25 on the clock. Concordia recaptured the lead and kept the lead until 11:26. Travis Wells dropped his second 3-pointer of the game to give Cornerstone an 18-17 lead and the Golden Eagles would not relinquish the lead for the remainder of the game. Cornerstone got the lead to 12 points on three separate occasions but would settle for a 9 point (47-38) advantage at the half. The Cardinals made the first two baskets of the second half to cut the lead to 5 (47-42) but the Golden Eagles quickly pushed the lead back to double digits (60-49) with 14:09 and then they went on an 18-3 run over the next seven minutes to break the game open. The Golden Eagles had over a 20 point lead for the last 9:41 of the game and they would finish with a 90-66 win over the Cardinals. The Golden Eagles had four players (Jake Plite-16, Cory Cox-15, Ben Lanning-15, and Wes Hudson-12) in double digits. Cornerstone improves to 7-1 in the WHAC.
