Following a 2-0 week that included two conference wins last week, the Cornerstone women's basketball team received a conference weekly award. Sophomore Jill Hendrickson was honored the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week from games played Dec. 1-7. The announcement was made by the conference yesterday afternoon. The Ada, Mich., native also earned the award on Nov. 27.
Hendrickson's week was highlighted by back-to-back double doubles. The Golden Eagle recorded 19 points and 15 rebounds at Lawrence Tech on Dec. 4 as Cornerstone rolled to a 66-50 victory. On Saturday, Dec. 7, Hendrickson scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds when the Golden Eagles topped Madonna, 89-72. The sophomore has now recorded four double-doubles this season.
After the Week, Cornerstone improves to 7-4 overall and 4-2 in the WHAC as the Golden Eagles travel to Dearborn, Mich., on Dec. 14 with tip-off scheduled for 1 p.m.
