The Golden Eagles had to go on the road for the their second straight WHAC contest and they came up against a tough University of Northwestern Ohio team. The Racers lived up to their name and raced out to a quick lead and Cornerstone had to play catchup the whole first half. The Golden Eagles found themselves down 36-17 with 10:20 on the clock but they got to work at that point and began to chip away at the lead throughout the remainder of the half. Anthony Allen started a 9-2 run by making a 2-point basket and drawing a foul on the play. He converted the free throw as well. Allen and Wes Hudson scored the next six points on foul shots to get Cornerstone to 38-26 on the scoreboard. The Golden Eagles went on another 17-5 run over the next six minutes of play to tie the score at 43-43 with 3:34 on the clock. The Racers would rebound and would finish the half with a 52-48 lead. It would take Cornerstone about five minutes into the second half to take their first lead of the game. Alex Lyle sank a 3-pointer to give Cornerstone a 59-58 advantage. The Racers would tie the score at 59-59 at 14:35 by making 1 of 2 from the foul line. Cornerstone would then take the lead and keep it for the remainder of the game although the Racers kept the pressure on and was always within striking distance through the second half of play. They pulled to within 1 point on two occasions but Cornerstone would hang on to defeat the Racers 84-81 to improve to 2-0 in the WHAC.

The Golden Eagles made 20-22 foul shots in the first half of play. The Racers shot 62.5% (20-32) in the first half but only 41.4% (12-29) in the second half of play.
