The Golden Eagles hit the road to open WHAC play tonight at Siena Heights and they came away with a 68-57 victory over the Saints. Cornerstone took an early lead but the Saints would reclaim the lead a couple times in the first four and a half minutes. Siena Heights led 9-8 at 15:03 in the first half. Ben Lanning made back to back buckets to give Cornerstone a 12-9 lead and the game would be nip and tuck through the first thirteen minutes but the Golden Eagles would open up a 12 point (32-20) lead over the next couple of minutes. The Saints cut into the lead over the last two minutes and would go into the locker room down just five (36-31). The Saints would come out hot in the second half and they tied the score at 42-42 with 14:16 left in the game. Cornerstone made a 20-10 run after that to open up a 10 point (62-52) cushion over Siena Heights and they would maintain a comfortable lead through the end of the game as they defeated the Saints 68-57. Cornerstone improves to 1-0 in the WHAC and 3-1 overall with the win.

The Golden Eagles shot 42.9% from the field compared to Siena Heights 28.3% in the game. Both teams made 25% of their 3 point attempts.
Cornerstone will be on the road again on Saturday against University of Northwestern Ohio for a 3:00 p.m. tipoff.
