The No. 21 Cornerstone University volleyball extended their October win streak to 10 games after facing Siena Heights University on Wednesday night. The Golden Eagles took a 3-1 victory (25-20, 25-21, 26-28, 25-23) while advancing to 20-9 overall and 8-1 during conference play. Siena Heights fall to 13-10 overall and 6-2 in the WHAC.
The Golden Eagles held a 62-50 and 59-48 advantage in team kills and digs during the match. Chelsea Lake led all players during the match connecting on 16 kills while Cailie Johnson added 13 with a .385 attacking percentage. Kim Weaver dished out 49 assists compared to Siena Heights' Carly Tillotson who dished out 26 respectively. Lake and Abby Miedema helped out defensively each recording 16 digs. Cornerstone attacked at their best (.355) during set two while keeping their opponents to a .029 percentage during that same set. Siena Heights held the team advantage in team blocks (13-8).
Cornerstone will take a break from WHAC play and will host the Aquinas / Cornerstone Classic this weekend on Friday and Saturday. The Golden Eagles will face Spring Arbor, Grace College, Goshen College and Mount Vernon Nazarene University during the Classic.
