Following last week's National Player of the Week, Cailie Johnson was honored for her fourth Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The announcement was made by the conference yesterday afternoon for games played between Oct. 14 – Oct. 20. The Rockford native has previously earned the conference award on Sept. 18, Sept. 25 and Oct. 14.
The middle-hitter tallied 27 kills, 19 digs and nine blocks during the Golden Eagles' two matches. Johnson recorded 11 kills and nine digs in a 3-0 sweep of Concordia University while adding two solo blocks, assisted on two more and served two aces. In a 3-1 victory over Indiana Tech, the junior had 16 kills, 10 digs and five assisted blocks.
After an undefeated record last week, No. 21 Cornerstone advances to 19-9 overall and 7-1 during conference play. The Golden Eagles are tied with No. 23 Davenport University for second place in the WHAC. Follow the Cornerstone volleyball squad when they travel to Siena Heights on Wednesday. The match will take place at 7 p.m. in Adrian, Mich.
