After Cailie Johnson's stellar performance last week, Johnson was tabbed the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday. The announcement was made by the NAIA on Tuesday night that Johnson has been named the NAIA Volleyball National Player of the Week from her performances from Oct. 7 - Oct. 13.
Cornerstone's middle-hitter has been strong on the hard court for the Golden Eagles. The junior hit at a .452 pace averaging 3.43 kills per set and 1.52 digs per set to aid in Cornerstone's undefeated (5-0) record last week. Three of the five wins came from Cornerstone upending three NAIA top 25 teams. Johnson's .383 hitting percentage this year ranks 10th in the NAIA while she sits in 28th in total kills (313).
The Golden Eagles will take to the court on Wednesday evening when they travel to Concordia University. The match is set for 7 p.m.
