The Golden Eagles hosted the Crusaders of Madonna tonight in a big WHAC match with both teams entering the game with identical 3-2-0 record in conference.  Cornerstone's starting line-up featured a lot of new faces tonight with Richard Moylan and Tristen Esprit both on the sidelines due to injury.  The Crusaders had the better of the play in the first half of play and they got on the scoreboard in the 25th minute.  Madonna played a ball out to the right of the penalty box and David Edwardson settled the ball and blasted a ball past Migue Cervantes to put the Crusaders up 1-0.  The Golden Eagles got the equalize on a penalty kick in the 31st minute after a foul on Gareth Flynn on the right side of the penalty box.  Senior captain Jordan Wilson stepped up and deposited his shot into the lower left side of the goal to tie the game at 1-1.  Madonna outshot Cornerstone 9-3 in the first half.  The second half proved to be a little better for the Golden Eagles.  Cornerstone forced the Madonna keeper into making six saves in the half but they could not get one by him.  Madonna had nine shots with four of them on goal.  Cornerstone dominated the first overtime outshooting Madonna 4-0 but Madonna would outshoot Cornerstone 4-2 in the second overtime period.  Neither team was able to score after the first half resulting in a double overtime tie at 1-1.  Cornerstone is now 7-4-1 overall and tied with Madonna in the WHAC with a 3-2-1 record.  Cornerstone will Marygrove at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
