The Golden Eagles hosted Lawrence Tech on a beautiful October day and they got all they wanted from the scrappy Blue Devils.  Cornerstone dominated play in the first half out shooting Lawrence Tech 14-1 in the first half.  The Golden Eagles didn't get a lot of quality chances in the first half.  Their best chances came off of a couple of corners and one breakaway by Lexie Brisson-Fast.  The Golden Eagles had a geat chance in about the 60th minute when Laura Roerig beat a couple of players and hit a shot that bounced off the crossbar but Lawrence Tech played their game well and it paid off in the 64th minute when Amber Klavon picked up a ball around 35 out and then beat GK Megan Lamb on a 1 v 1 to make it 1-0.  The Golden Eagles kept pressing to get the equalizer and Lexie Brisson-Fast tied the score on shot to the far post that made its way through a bunch of Blue Devil defenders and by their GK.  That gave the Golden Eagles the life they needed to finish off the game.  Cornerstone got a corner kick and freshman Lexanna Siemasz ran onto a bouncing ball and burried it into the net on a volley to give Cornerstone a 2-1 advantage in the 88th minute.  The Golden Eagles would seal the win when Kerri Hoffman put Rachel through to a 1 v 1 and Wood won a tackle with the GK and then played the ball into the open net to give Cornerstone a 3-1 victory.  Cornerstone improves to 7-3-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the WHAC.  The Golden Eagles will host Aquinas at 4:30 on Saturday in their next match.
