The Cornerstone men's golf team took to the course one last time for the fall season at the Metamora Golf & Country Club Monday. The fourth and final WHAC Jamboree was held in Metamora, Mich., hosted by Marygrove College.
During Monday's event, the weather was cold with high winds and persistent light rain which led to tough playing conditions for the competitors. The Golden Eagles finished tied for sixth with Indiana Tech after a 322 team score. Cornerstone was nearly six strokes away from Aquinas College who finished with a 316 team score. Siena Heights took the first place position shooting an overall 300 team score while Davenport (308) and UNOH (309) were in a tough race for second place on Monday.
After the final WHAC Jamboree of the 2013 fall season, Davenport claimed their third WHAC regular season men's golf title. Northwestern Ohio followed behind finishing in second while Siena Heights took fourth and Cornerstone finished in fifth. Davenport's win allows them to host the 54-hole spring tournament at Stonewater Country Club to determine the WHAC's automatic team qualifier for the NAIA National Championships in May.
