The Golden Eagles broke out of their scoring slump in a big way today in a 4-0 win over Goshen College.  Unlike the last couple of games where they started well but didn't score in the game.   Today they didn't start so well giving up a couple of shots early in the game but they did find the back of the net multiple times.  Lexie Brisson-Fast got Cornerstone on the board in the 21st minute.  Brisson-Fast took a pass about 45 yards from goal, beat her defender, and drove toward the goal where she beat the GK at the near post in a 1 v 1.  Josie Litty made it 2-0 in the 29th minute.  Litty made a diagonal run across the back of Goshen's defense and Rachel Wood played a nice ball into her and she beat the keeper to the far post.  The Golden Eagles got off six shots and converted on two of them in the first half of play.  The Golden Eagles got back to work early in the second half.  Amanda Schutter took a free kiick from the left side of the field and served a nice ball in the box to Lexanna Siemasz who headed the ball into the upper right side of the goal for her first goal of her Cornerstone career.  The Golden Eagles continued to threaten the Maple Leaf's goal.  Jessica Erny hit a beautiful cross to Rachel Wood but Wood's header went just over the top of the crossbar with about 15 minutes left in game.  Kristen Dykstra scored her first goal of her career with about five minutes left in the game.  Allison Langeland chased down a cross and she pressured the Goshen keeper into mishandling the ball and Kristen Dykstra shot the ball into the open net to make it 4-0.  Cornerstone.  Freshman GK Allison Snowden had to make a big save late in the half to preserve the shutout.  Snowden made seven saves and picked up her second win of the season.  Cornerstone improves to 3-3 on the year and will have a week off before their next game.  The Golden Eagles will host Rochester College at 7:00 p.m. next Tuesday.
