Following Julie Oosterhouse's dominant performance during the Golden Eagles' women's cross country opener on Aug. 31, the junior was tabbed Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference runner of the week on Sept. 2. The Golden Eagle runner was honored once again as runner of the week for her performance last week at the Knight Invitational. The announcement was made by the conference yesterday afternoon.
The Byron Center native earned the award with a third-place finish at the Calvin Knight Invite on Sept. 14. Her time of 18:02 is a personal best by 11 seconds. The finish was the first WHAC runner across the finish line in the women's race. As a team the women's cross country team finished sixth overall at the Invite highlighted by the Golden Eagles beating NAIA no. 7 Aquinas College in a close early season WHAC match-up.
Follow the Golden Eagles next when the No. 14 women's cross-country team takes place in the Lansing Community College Invitational on Oct. 4 in Lansing. The Invitational will begin at 1:30 p.m.
