Cornerstone University and head baseball coach Dave Mitroff are pleased to announce the signing of Austin Brunk, a corner infielder and pitcher transferring from Rochester College in Mich. Austin will enter Cornerstone as a junior. Brunk hit .320 as a sophomore and was 1-2 on the mound allowing opponents to hit just .206 off of him.
When asked about transferring to Cornerstone, Austin said, "I chose Cornerstone University for several reasons; the first is the great Christian atmosphere that is around the campus. The idea of being a part of a brand new program and really going out there and showing what we have in such a new and young program excites me. Another reason is the idea of being a bunch of brothers in Christ fighting battles on and off the field together - that isn't something that you find in many places."
According to Coach Mitroff, "Austin will be a great addition to our program. We are pleased to add another quality player that can add experience to our young team. Austin has the ability to play a few different positions and we are eager to see where he fits best this fall. We believe that he adds to a deep pitching staff and will compete with our corner infielders immediately."
