Cornerstone University and head baseball coach David Mitroff are pleased to announce the signing of Jake Ellis, a corner infielder and pitcher from Forest Hills Eastern High School in Forest Hills, Mich. Ellis finished his senior season hitting .436 with 25 runs and 24 RBI. He led his team in hitting, home runs, doubles, RBI, and runs scored.
When asked about his decision to attend Cornerstone University, Jake said, "I chose Cornerstone because I'm going into psychology and I want a Christian background in my studies. My hopes for my time at CU are to graduate with a degree and to make many good friends. On the field my hopes are to create great bonds with my teammates and to win a championship."
Head baseball coach David Mitroff said, "We are excited to add Jake to the program. Jake's dad Kurt played baseball here at Cornerstone when he was in college on the same team as current Golden Eagle softball coach Jim Farrell. It will be fun to have that connection to a baseball alumnus. Jake will work as an infielder and a pitcher for us all fall and we are excited to see how his skill set projects to the college level."
