The Golden Eagles missed out and their opportunity to get in the running for an at-large berth at the NAIA National Championships by finishing 14 of 15 at the NAIA Classic at Brickyard Crossing in Indianapolis. Cornerstone finished 10th of 15 after Day 1. The Golden Eagles lost ground on Day 2 to finish 14th of 15 at the tournament. Many of the top NAIA teams were present at the tournament so they were hoping for a top 3-4 showing to get in the running for an at-large berth for the National Tournament. WHAC Champion Madonna earned the automatic berth in the fall by defeating Cornerstone by 1 stroke in the WHAC Jamboree's. Chet Vandenberg led the Golden Eagles by shooting a 78-74 (152) to finish tied for 27th overall. Ryan Zwier finished a shot back of Vandenberg with a 74-79 (153) and finished tied for 32nd. Ben Vanbiesbrouck shot 78-78 (157) to finish in a tie for 53rd. Marcus Brussee finished tied for 60th with a 79-80 (159). Josh Mick shot 83-79 (162) and finish tied for 67th. The Golden Eagles shot 309-311 (620) over the two day tournament. Indiana Wesleyan won the tournament shooting 299-291 (590) to finish one stroke ahead of Johnson & Wales (Fla.). Madonna finished tied for 7th with a 608 total. Davenport finished in last with a score of 631.
