The announcement was made June 28 that former Cornerstone men's basketball star, Andy Bronkema, was named the new head basketball coach at Ferris State.  The West Michigan native has been serving the last six seasons as an assistant for the Bulldogs and will begin coaching on July 10.  An introductory press conference is scheduled for today (July 1) at 2 p.m.    

As a collegiate standout, Bronkema served as a team captain in both his junior and senior seasons under Coach Elders at Cornerstone.  Andy garnered numerous awards during his career which highlighted by three times First-Team WHAC All-Conference and two times named to the NAIA All-American Honorable Mention Team.  Bronkema helped lead the Golden Eagles to two regular-season WHAC Championships, one WHAC Tournament Championship, and four national tournament appearances.  The forward finished his career with 1,725 points, 982 rebounds, and 336 assists for the Golden Eagles.
