(Clermont, Fla.)   The Golden Eagles found it a little harder to score runs today in Florida.  Cornerstone scattered seven hits on the day and scored twice but the story of the day was Heidi Warmelink throwing a 1-hit shutout on the way to a 2-0 victory over Bellevue University of Neb.  Heidi Warmelink led off the fourth inning with a double and scored on a Harlie Sherman single to put the Golden Eagles up 1-0.  Warmelink got a single to lead off the sixth inning and was replaced on the bases by Ashley Niedermayer who ended up scoring on a Jenna Weightman single to complete the scoring.  Cornerstone improved to 6-1 and Warmelink improved to 3-1 on the season.

The Golden Eagles faced Hannibal-LaGrange for the second time of their Florida trip in the second game of the day.  Cornerstone took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a Jenna Weightman home run.  The Golden Eagles added to the lead in the fourth inning on a Megan Oberst RBI single.  Heidi Warmelink doubled and came home on the Oberst single to make it 2-0.   Hannibal-LaGrange scored three in the bottom of the sixth to take a 3-2 lead.  Warmelink and Oberst opened the seventh with singles but the Golden Eagles couldn't get them home and the Golden Eagles took their second loss of the trip 3-2 to the Trojans of Hannibal-LaGrange.

Cornerstone will face Mount Vernon (Ohio) and University of St. Francis (Ill.) tomorrow.
