The Cornerstone University baseball team lost to Victory University today 12-2 as Victory swept the three game series.
David Mitroff got the start on the mound for the Golden Eagles and was knocked out of the game after two innings due to some spotty defense. In two innings, Mitroff allowed seven runs only two of which were earned. He received his first loss of the season.
Ryan Harris was stellar in relief going four innings in which he allowed two runs on three hits with one walk and seven strikeouts.
On the day, the Victory University Eagles scored 12 runs: five of them unearned.
The Cornerstone offense had a difficult time getting anything going managing just four hits and striking out 10 times. Geren Albury was 1-3 with a single driving in two runs in the second inning.
The Cornerstone baseball team will head back to Michigan tonight and begin to prepare for its spring break trip to Florida on February 28.
