Ashleigh Niedermayer scored the first bucket of the game to put the Golden Eagles up 2-0 but that would be the only lead for Cornerstone on the night. Siena Heights made a 22-10 run over the next 15 minutes to take a 10 point (22-12) lead with 4:07 left in the half. The Saints increased the lead to 24-12 at 3:32 but the Golden Eagles scored the last 4 points of the half to reduce the lead to 24-16 at the half. Cornerstone made an 11-6 run to start the second half to cut the lead to 3 (30-27) with 14:14 remaining. The Saints then made an 18-4 run over the next 11 minutes to take a commanding lead and went on to defeat Cornerstone 52-37. Robyn Veltkamp broke two milestones in the game going over 500 assists and rebounds for her career.
The Golden Eagles will return home to take on cross-town rival Davenport Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
