(Allendale, Mich.) After spending three weeks in the South Australia summer over the holidays, Louis Falland returned to North American winter ready to run some hot times. The first race of the indoor season for the native of Nuriootpa, Australia at the Grand Valley State University Mike Lints Open was blazing.

Falland took the lead early in the race then held a steady, aggressive pace. He easily fought off a challenge in the final 400 meters covering that distance in 60 seconds. He winning time of 4:15.28 not only bettered the NAIA automatic qualifying mark, it is the fastest time by an NAIA miler this season and moves Falland to second the Cornerstone all-time list.

Mike Mahon put his name at the top of the list with breaking the freshman record in the 35 pound weight throw. After a personal best of 47' 5.75" on his first attempt, Mahon's third throw measured 48' 2.75" breaking the old record of 47' 8.5" set in 2009 by Steve Tuttle.

The Golden Eagles got a pair of wins from their top long sprinters. In the 400 meters, Ryan Versen powered past Northwood's Travis Blunt in the final fifty meters winning in 49.38. Senior, Zach Yeo also used his great kick to improve his PR and position on the NAIA qualifying list, winning the 800 meters in 1:55.76.

Senior, Zach Bourdon improved to 1:23.70 in the 600 meters placing 12^th with freshman Alex Macias 18^th in a PR 1:26.88.

In the long distance events, senior, Jared Coutright led wire to wire to in the 5,000 meters in 15:19.03. Classmate, Tavis Mabe ran a new best in the 3000 meters of 8:54.33.

In the 4 x 400 meter relay, Spencer Perry led off ahead of Bourdon, Versen and Yeo. The Golden Eagles took fourth in a season best 3:21.86.
