The Golden Eagles made the long trip down to Indiana Tech tonight but the trip home will be a little shorter after a 66-57 win over the Warriors. Cornerstone made the first basket of the night and kept the lead until the 13:56 mark in the game. Tech tied the score at 8-8 and then took the lead for the next six minutes. Robyn Veltkamp tied the game at 16-16 with 8:20 left. The teams traded baskets before the Golden Eagles began to gain some separation. Cornerstone outscored Indiana Tech 16-8 down the stretch and took an 8 point lead (34-28) into the locker room at the half. The Golden Eagles maintained at least a 6 point lead throughout the second half. Katelyn Cousins gave the Golden Eagles their biggest lead of the night (51-38) when she drained a 3-point shot at 10:28 in the second half. The Warriors did make a run and cut the lead to 6 points as late as 3:01 left but the Golden Eagles made their free throws down the stretch and ended the game with a 66-57 victory over Indiana Tech.
The Golden Eagles will return home to face Lourdes on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
