The Cardinals opened the game with a basket at 19:46 to take a 2-0 lead. It took the Golden Eagles about a minute tie the game on a Jake Plite bucket and then the Golden Eagles made a 11-1 run to take a 13-3 lead at 15:53. The Cardinals responded with an 18-8 run to tie the game at 21-21 with 7:32 left in the half. Concordia opened up a 5 point lead (26-21) at 5:33 but the Golden Eagles tied it back up (26-26) at 3:16 on the clock. Cornerstone finished the half with an 8-2 run to take a 6 point lead at the break. Cornerstone increased their lead to 39-28 just 3:30 into the second half before a 8-2 Cardinal run to close it to 4 points. Cornerstone would maintain that lead for the next three minutes and would lead 51-40 at 6:00 but the Golden Eagles went cold at that point. Concordia outscored Cornerstone 15-2 over the next five minutes to go up 55-53. The Golden Eagles missed on their chance to tie it and was forced to foul late and Concordia finished with a 59-56 win.
The Golden Eagles will hit the road this Wednesday to play #20 Indiana Tech at 7:30 p.m.
