KEY TEAM STATS

Cornerstone shot 38.8% in the game and limited Aquinas to just 28.4% in the game.  The Golden Eagles also pulled down 12 more rebounds than the Saints.

GAME FLOW

The two teams traded leads early in the game and had 3 ties at 10-10, 12-12, and 14-14 before the Golden Eagles started to inch away from the Saints.  Jill Hendrickson made a basket at 10:00 to give the Golden Eagles a 16-14 lead and the Golden Eagles would keep that lead for the remainder of the game.  Cornerstone led 23-20 with 5:49 left in the half and then made a 11-3 run to finish the half up 34-23.  The Saints cut the lead to (37-30) 3:04 into the second half but the Golden Eagles went on a 17-5 run over the next 10 minutes to take a commanding 54-35 lead with 7:27 left in the game.  Aquinas responded with a 19-4 run over the next five and half minutes to cut the lead to 58-54 to make it a game but the Golden Eagles were able to hold them off for the 61-55 win over the Saints.

The Golden Eagles will return home on Saturday and will take on 14^th ranked Concordia at 1:00 p.m.  Concordia is currently tied for first place (9-0) in the WHAC.
