(Grand Rapids, Mich.) Cornerstone sophomore, Brittany Green has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Field Event Athlete of the Week following her outstanding performance at the Grand Valley State University Holiday Open.
The sophomore from Ohio competed in the five events of the pentathlon, setting personal bests in four of them. After winning the long jump in 18' 4.5" and better her NAIA national qualifying mark in the event, Green improved her PR's in the shot put (38' 7.5"), high jump (4' 9.5") and 800 meters 2:35.28). Her 60 meter hurdle best of 9.24 was under the NAIA provisional qualifying standard. After totaling the point values from the five events, Brittany earned a pentathlon score of 3440, a 330 point improvement and the leading mark in the NAIA this season.
