With nine games into the 2012-2013 season, the Cornerstone women's basketball team welcomes Taylor Dean to the 2013-2014 roster. Head coach Katie Mattera announced that Taylor Dean has signed a letter of intent to attend Cornerstone University for the 2013-2014 academic year. Dean is a 5'11 native from Holland, Mich. and will add depth to the forward position on next year's team.
Taylor is a two sport athlete for West Ottawa High School in Holland, Mich. The native from Holland plays basketbal under former CU basketball standout Jenna Plewes and softball for the Panthers. Dean also participated in the National Honor Society and has volunteered at various places in the community.
The forward is in her third season for the varsity basketball program at West Ottawa. Dean was named third team All-Area and has grabbed a total of 136 rebounds, averaged 7.4 points per game, dished out 20 assists, recorded 21 blocks, and tallied 25 steals during her two years at the varsity level at West Ottawa.
Alongside her basketball accomplishments, she is a standout member of the Panther's softball program where she was named All-Area, All-Conference, and All-Region.
This academic year, Dean looks to continue her strong level of play at both varsity programs before entering her first season at Cornerstone next year.
