Davenport outscored Cornerstone 36-16 in the paint and scored 32 points off of turnovers.
The Golden Eagles took a 5-4 lead on a Katelyn Cousins 3-pointer with 17:18 on the clock in the first half of play but that would be their only lead of the night. Davenport would go on a 19-5 run after that to go up 23-10 with 10:47 left in the half. The Panther built the lead to 18 (31-13) with 6:08 on the clock but the Golden Eagles would make a 6-0 run to cut the lead to 12 with 2:45 left in the half. Davenport outscored Cornerstone 6-2 down the stretch of the first half to take a 37-21 lead into the locker room. The Golden Eagles started out well in the second half making a 10-5 run to start the half to cut the lead to 11 (42-31) but that would be as close as they would get as Davenport gradually extended their lead throughout the half. The Panthers biggest lead (32 points) came with :24 seconds left in the game but Kathy DeYoung made a jumper at the end of the game and the Panthers took a 69-39 win over the Golden Eagles.
The Golden Eagles will have the next 8 days off and will return to action next Wednesday when they host Siena Heights at 7:30 p.m. The men will play the first game of the double header that night at 5:30 p.m.
