The Golden Eagles shot only 15.4% (4-26) from the floor in the 2nd half.
The Golden Eagles started out well against the #4 ranked Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats tonight. Cornerstone outscored IWU 11-6 over the first three minutes of play. The Wildcats tied the score at 14-14 with 15:10 on the clock and then went on a 7-0 run over the next four minutes to lead 21-14 at 11:03. The Golden Eagles hung tough and went into the locker room down 31-26 at the half. The second half proved to be much tougher for Cornerstone. The Golden Eagles did not score a point until Janae Trombley hit a two point shot with 11:34 left in the half to make the score 44-28. The Wildcats gradually increased their lead up to 60-33 with 2:20 left in the game. The Golden Eagles scored one more basket and finished the game down 60-35.
The Golden Eagles will return home for their WHAC opener on Saturday against University of Northwestern Ohio at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
