GAME FLOW

Cornerstone traveled down to Hammond, Ind. to play in the Sleep Inn Tip-Off Classic hosted by Purdue University Calumet today and they picked up the first win under new head coach Katie Mattera.  The Golden Eagles grabbed the early lead (5-4) on a Katelyn Cousins 3-pointer and a Robyn Veltkamp basket but the Peregrine gradually pulled away from the Golden Eagles and built as much as a 15 point lead on a couple of occasions late in the first half but would end with a 44-33 lead at intermission.  Cornerstone made a 15-3 run to start the second half to pull ahead (48-47) with 15:47 on the clock.  The team battled back and forth through the rest of the game.  There were 9 ties and 13 lead changes from the 15:47 mark down to the :30 second mark when Cornerstone took the lead for good on a Katelyn Cousins 3-pointer.  Tanner Hostetler and Robyn Veltkamp both  converted crucial free throws down the stretch to seal the victory for Cornerstone.
