After a busy weekend, the Cornerstone volleyball squad returns to the court for a conference road contest at University of Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday. Head coach Ryan Campbell and his squad are currently 22-8 overall and 7-2 in the WHAC. With league play winding down, Cornerstone will have their final two WHAC matches this week against UNOH and Davenport. University of Northwestern Ohio currently shares the top spot in conference standings with Madonna and Indiana Tech as all three teams have posted an 8-1 record. Meanwhile, Davenport shares the second place spot in conference standings with Cornerstone.
The Golden Eagles enter Wednesday coming off an eventful weekend at the Aquinas/Cornerstone Classic. The squad faced Mount Mercy, Shawnee State, Rochester College, and Bethel College. After the 3-1 result, the squad is eager to return to conference play.
Scouting the UNOH Racers
The UNOH racers are racing their way to the top spot in league play with two other opponents, Madonna and Indiana Tech. The Racers enter Wednesday night holding a 31-3 overall record while posting a 8-1 in conference play. The squad is currently receiving votes to be nationally recognized and have notched key conference wins against Madonna and Davenport. The Racers only conference loss came to the hands of Aquinas on October 17. Following the Cornerstone match on Wednesday, UNOH will conclude conference regular season play with Indiana Tech on Friday. As a team, the Racers lead the conference in multiple categories that include hitting percentage (.252), Kills/Set (13.7), and Assists/Set (12.6).
Golden Eagle Quick Hits
-The Golden Eagles share the second place position in the WHAC play with Davenport with two matches left in the regular season.
-Since the Campbell era, the Golden Eagles are 1-3 against the Racers of UNOH.
-The squad is coming off a 3-1 record at the Aquinas/Cornerstone Classic.
-After Wednesday, Cornerstone will host key match against Davenport on Friday.
-Friday will be the final conference match of the 2012 campaign.
-Sophomore outside hitter Cailie Johnson was named WHAC volleyball player of the week during Oct. 22-Oct. 28.

-Abby Miedema is second in conference play with 4.9 digs per set for the Golden Eagles.
