
Following a 5-1 week that included the Aquinas/Cornerstone Classic, the Cornerstone volleyball team received a conference weekly award. Sophomore outside hitter Cailie Johnson was honored for games played Oct. 22-Oct. 28. The announcement was made by the conference this afternoon.
Johnson's week was highlighted with 74 kills, 34 digs, and 13 assists with a .474 attacking percentage. The sophomore was also named to the Aquinas/Cornerstone Classic All-Tournament First Team. Johnson entered double figures in kills during all five matches, capped by a season-high 24-kill match against Shawnee State on Friday. With the help of Johnson, the Golden Eagles improve their overall record to 22-8. The Golden Eagles finished the regular season this week when they meet two tough WHAC opponents. On Wednesday, Cornerstone travels to UNOH and host Davenport Friday night.
