LOUISVILLE, KY (9/29) The Golden Eagles travelled to Louisville, KY to participate in the largest cross country meet in the United States this year. Nearly 150 teams and over one thousand athletes covered the course at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in six different races.

Travis Mabe led CU with his typical well-paced patient style. Barely in the top fifty at 3 miles, the senior worked his way up to finish 39^th in a season best time of 25:45. The team's usually tight 1-4 pack was reduced by two, significantly affecting the outcome of the race. "Held out our top two as a precaution," said coach, Nate Van Holten. "They were a little beat up after the last two weeks of training."

Thomas Bambach and Cody Risch were just nine seconds apart at the finish with Thomas placing 111^th in 26:28 and Risch 138^th in 26:37. Tyler Grey (28:01 / 299^th) and Jared Holmberg (28:24 / 320^th) stepped in the fill out the top five.

Cornerstone finished 35^th in the Blue division race out of 46 team. Eastern Kentucky won with 96 points.
