Golden Eagles Help Save Lives
The spread of malaria in Africa is one of the world's deadliest diseases. The Cornerstone University men's soccer, women's soccer, and volleyball teams are having a "Night of Nets" in order to raise awareness and resources to help wipe out this pandemic. The money and resources will go towards prevention of malaria in sub-Saharan Africa by purchasing bed nets.
This is the third annual "Night of Nets" that Cornerstone teams will be holding. The bed nets purchased as a result of past "Night of Nets" events were distributed in the spring of 2012. Senior women's soccer players Kelley Ritsema and Riley Steen were able to witness first-hand the effects of malaria and the need for the bed nets.
