A Look at the Golden Eagles
Cornerstone's recent win came last week Wednesday with an impressive 3-0 win over Goshen College. The game was played after the Golden Eagles men's soccer team played at 5 p.m. With the win, Cornerstone improved to a 6-1 overall record.

In the 17th minute, senior Kelley Ritsema finished off a beautiful pass from Amanda Van Laar to give the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead. In the second half, Van Laar tallied her second assist with a slip ball to Kerri Hoffman who finished a one-time shot. The third and final goal came off Ritsema's foot for her second of the game. The goal occurred in the 67th minute with Riley Steen threading the defense with a pass to Ritsema who scored.
Cornerstone's goalkeeper, Kathy Butt, recorded her first shutout of the season. Kathy holds a 1.44 goals-against average tallying 25 saves on the year (.714 save percentage). Meanwhile a handful of field players have netted 3 goals apiece this season: Kelley Ritsema, Maile Carigon, Riley Steen, and Kerri Hoffman.
