The Golden Eagles traveled down to Ann Arbor to take on Concordia in their first WHAC game of the season. Cornerstone dictated play for most of the first half out shooting the Cardinals 9-3 but the Golden Eagles couldn't find a way to get one by GK Mikey Erickson. The second half of play seemed to heat up as both team had more shots with Cornerstone holding an 11-8 advantage. The Cardinals struck first by converting a penalty kick in the 60th minute. Cornerstone responded quickly when Isaac Grotenhuis
finished off a Tristan Esprit
pass to knot the game at 1-1 at 65:39. The Golden Eagles grabbed the lead 2 minutes later when Matt Osorio
scored unassisted at 67:54. Cornerstone added an insurance goal at 79:09 on another Matt Osorio
goal. Cornerstone improves to 4-2-1 overall and 1-0 in the WHAC with the win. The Golden Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when they will host Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. The will be their "Night of Nets" game where all monies received will go toward buying bed nets to send to Africa to cut down on the incidence of malaria. Their will be a suggested donation of $6 to get into the game which will buy one bed net. Come out and support the Golden Eagles and a great cause.
