On Saturday, a host of Golden Eagle teams will be representing Cornerstone. Men's and women's golf will be taking to the golf course, volleyball is set for their third WHAC match, and men's soccer will be away for a WHAC game.
The men's golf team is currently ranked fourth overall in the WHAC standings after last WHAC Jamboree on September 11 & 12. The men will take off from WHAC play as they enter Saturday's match at Cascade Lakes Golf Club for the Bill Bockwitz Intercollegiate, which will be hosted by Spring Arbor. Bailey Mathieson is leading the way for the Golden Eagles after posting third place overall in WHAC Jamboree #2.
The women's golf team looks towards the weekend as they tee off in WHAC Jamboree's #2 and #3. Currently the Golden Eagles are in seventh place, out of ninth, and look to improve on their placement. Jamboree #2 will be played on Friday at Salem Hills Golf Club in Northville, Michigan. Tee time is set for 12 p.m. The third Jamboree is set for Saturday at Pheasant Run Golf Club in Canton, Michigan. Tee time is set for 11 a.m.
The volleyball squad enters their third WHAC match at home on Saturday. Recently, the Golden Eagles were ranked No. 23 in the nation while riding on conference player of the week, Becky Albrecht's stellar play. Cornerstone looks to improve on their overall record, 8-2, and conference record, 2-0, as they host Lawrence Tech at 1 p.m. Lawrence Tech sits at 0-2 in the conference and 9-11 overall while they look to win their first WHAC match.
The Golden Eagles men's soccer team travels to Concordia on Saturday for their first WHAC game of the 2012 campaign. After coming off a 3-0 loss to Saint Xavier the men look to bounce back strong for the WHAC season. Saturday's match-up will be Concordia's first WHAC match as well. Concordia enters the game with a 3-4-1 overall record. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. in Ann Arbor. The men will then return home for their annual "Night of Nets" match on Sept. 26 against Aquinas College at 7p.m.
