Cornerstone women's soccer defender Katie Wiegman has been tabbed the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for games played Sept. 10-Sept. 16. The announcement was made by the conference earlier this afternoon.

Wiegman's honor marks the first player of the week nod of her Cornerstone career. The sophomore finished the week by anchoring Cornerstone's defense during two wins as the central defender when the Golden Eagles defeated Davenport (3-1) and Bethel (3-1) to improve their overall record to 5-1.

Wiegman and the Golden Eagles hope to extend their three-game winning streak on Wednesday, when they host Goshen. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
