Cornerstone got another great start today scoring four goals in the first half of play. Jake Stanko put the Golden Eagles up 1-0 in just the 7th minute of play. Stanko scored on a great individual effort on the first goal. Fellow senior Matt Osorio
added to the Cougars misery just 9 minutes later to make it 2-0. Osorio picked up a loose ball and deposit a hard shot into the left upper corner of the goal. Isaac Grotenhuis
got on the board in the 27th minute of play. Brian Nimmo
beat his defender down the left flank, cut the ball back and delivered a great ball across the face of the goal and Grotenhuis hit a left footed bullet into the upper left portion of the goal. The Golden Eagles continued to pressure the Cougars throughout the remainder of the half and Jake Stanko capitalized with just .07 seconds left in the half to make it a 4-0 game. The Golden Eagles made a lot of substitutions in the second half. They played well but were unable to convert any more goals in the game. Cornerstone outshot the Cougars 16-6 on the game. Cornerstone improves to 3-1-1 while USF drops to 6-2-0 on the season. Cornerstone will return to action on Wednesday at 5;00 p.m when they take on St. Xavier (IL).
