The Golden Eagles got off the bus and went right to work tonight as they scored in the 5th, 12th, and 22nd minute of the first half. Isaac Grotenhuis
got the Golden Eagles on the board at 5:10 with an assist from Brian Nimmo
. Jake Stanko made it 2-0 at 12:35 with an unassisted goal. Tristen Esprit put the Golden Eagles up 3-0 with 22:11 gone and it looked to be a rout but the Maple Leafs would not allow another goal in the first half. Goshen scored just 2:51 into the second half to cut the lead to 3-1 and then made it 3-2 in the 68th minute to make a game of it. Cornerstone would not give up another goal and finished with a 3-2 victory over the Maple Leafs. Cornerstone out shot Goshen 11-5 on the game. Cornerstone will return to action this Saturday when they host Univ. of St. Francis (IN) at 3:30 p.m. The JV team will play St. Francis at 12:30 p.m.
