Cornerstone University and head baseball coach David Mitroff are pleased to announce the signing of Alex Harmon, a transfer student from Roosevelt University in Chicago. Alex is a left-hand-hitting first baseman with gap to gap power. As a senior in high school, Alex was named 1st team All Lakes 8 Conference, 1st Team All-Area, 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All Region, and 2nd Team All State. He hit .449 with 53 hits, 11 doubles, 9 triples and 32 RBIs.
When asked about his decision to transfer to Cornerstone, Alex said, "I chose Cornerstone because of the feeling I got when I stepped on campus. Everyone from the staff to the students really amazed me. Cornerstone seems like a great place to not only advance my life academically but also spiritually.The players that the coaches have recruited will be able to compete instantly and I see us competing for a conference championship right away."
Coach David Mitroff said, "We were very excited that Alex contacted us about our university and our baseball program. It is exciting to sign a great left handed hitter. When we sat down with him to discuss our program, we were blown away by Alex's maturity and his ability to communicate exactly what he was looking for in a school and baseball program.
